Containers

Gradebook Containers

Containers are the weighted groups of entries used to calculate or categorize entries. These can be set up as:

KTCA (Knowledge, Thinking/Inquiry, Communication, Application)
Term / Culminating
Assessment types: (Essays, Tests, Projects, Quizzes, etc)
Competencies (commonly Learning Skills) - (Self-Regulation, Collaboration, Initiative, etc)
Combinations of the above
Custom sets of Containers

Container Editing

The editing screen allows for editing of:

The Container Full Name
The Container Short Name (for use in the grid and space-sensitive screens and reports)
The Weighting Contribution to the class grade
Information: The calculated Percentage weight of the container.
Information: How many entries are in in the container
Whether the Container should be considered as as Competency:
- Generally, these are not used to contribute to the student average mark.
- These are analyzed and presented in reporting with respect to unweighted modal and frequency.
Whether the Container should be handled as an Elementary Strand:
- In these cases, the Strand mark is calculated separately from the student's class average.
- If there are only Elementary Strands and Competencies, there won't be a separate class average for a student.

The left-most icon allows for re-ordering the containers in all displays.

If no Entries exist in a container, the delete button is shown at the right side.

In addition, the Floating button in the header allows for adding new Containers to the class.

Adding a Container or Containers

Adding the container allows for the editing of the required information as well as an option to choose from Container Templates (see below)

Container Templates

If you choose a Container template, you can opt to select one of the Containers from the template and then fill in the weighting, or you can capture all of the Containers from the template with the top button.
